The Lanka Premier League has a new addition to their mixes. Bollywood has joined hands with LPL. Veteran Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who has earlier been a Brand Ambassador for B Love Kandy has now joined hands to own the T20 Franchise team. He now is a co-owner of the team along with Omar Khan and H.H. Sheikh Marwan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Formerly known as Kandy Falcons, the franchisee team is now keen to grab the title. A well balanced squad guided by team mentors Wasim Akram, Javed Miandad and Mohammad Azharuddin will showcase their mark in the game. The B Love Kandy squad is also guided by their head coach Mushtaq Ahmad.
While Bollywood was involved earlier in a limited capacity, now with Dutt’s ownership, it the Bollywood industry advent into the sports specter ventures into a different country. Earlier Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi were the Brand Ambassadors of the team.
A total of 5 teams will take part in this fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League. With pre auction drafts and the mega auction done, the Lanka Premier League is set to commence from 31st July and will conclude on 17th August. The League format is simple, each team plays against the other twice in a round robin format.

Then there will be the knockouts. 2 Qualifiers will be followed by an Eliminator and then the final on 20th August. There is however, a reserve day set for the Finals.
