India’s middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer will not be available for the 2nd and 3rd ODIs against South Africa, BCCI informed on Saturday. The swashbuckling batter did not feature in the T20s and is now confirmed to not participate in the last 2 ODIs as well.

Taking to social media platfortm X, BCCI announced that Iyer would join the Test squad after the first ODI in Johannesburg. Further, it stated that he will not be available for the 2nd and 3rd ODI, adding that he will participate in the inter-squad game.
“After the conclusion of the first ODI in Johannesburg on 17thDecember, Mr Shreyas Iyer will join the Test squad to prepare for the Test series. He will not be available for the second and third ODI and will take part in the inter-squad game”, a BCCI statement read.
