IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and MS Dhoni have suffer a huge blow ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023 final. CSK’s premium pacer Deepak Chahar has suffered an injury scare in the qualifier 1 ahead of Sunday’s summit clash.

Deepak Chahar Injury Update

“Everything is okay, one more to go,” Chahar stated following the match.

After missing the entire 2022 season owing to a back injury, Chahar has missed six games this season due to a hamstring injury he sustained in an earlier encounter. Chahar recorded 2 for 29 in Qualifier 1, including the dismissals of the Titans’ opening pair, Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill.

“The ball was doing something on the track and it was sticking to it [the pitch]. So, as a bowling unit, we decided to bowl more length,” CSK pacer said.

“When you get support from the wicket, then you obviously don’t need to experiment too much – just bowl the basic ball and let them take the chances because we scored the runs and, when it comes to semi-finals, it’s all about handling the pressure. And scoring 170, chasing 170 in a semi-final when the crowd is against you, is very difficult,” pacer added.

CSK enter 10th IPL Final

The steadfast Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by 15 runs in Qualifier 1 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, cruising into the IPL 2023 championship match.

Ruturaj Gaikwad stole the show with the bat as he laid the foundation with a spectacular 60 (44). After that, Ambati Rayudu (17 off 9) and Ravindra Jadeja (22 off 16) both scored quickly to give CSK a key late flourish and bring the score to a respectable 172/7.

Then, using a combination of spin, pace, and bounce, Ravindra Jadeja (2/18) and Maheesh Theekshana (2/28) created a web around the GT hitters to help CSK bowl GT out for 157 and advance to their 10th IPL final.
