Just a day is left for the IPL 2024 Auction. Ahead of the auction, the BCCI is set to announce the brand new rules for the uncapped players. BCCI has planned to introduce a reward system for the uncapped players who will go on to play International matches after the IPL season.
The League Fee for the uncapped players is simple and set. Any uncapped players price shall be less than 50 lakhs. Now the player becomes a capped player if he plays at least 1 International match.
As per the new BCCI guidelines, the reward system kicks in for players who are brought for less than 50 lakhs. If the player gets the cap after the conclusion of one season and before the start of the next, then he is entitled to a pay raise. If the player plays 1-4 International game/s, his price increases to 50 lakhs. So even if his price was lower, the franchise cannot retain the player at his original base price.
For players who get 5-9 caps within the time span, will see their stocks rising to 75 lakhs. On the other hand, for players who go on to make 10 or more caps then their base prices will virtually be doubled. If the franchise opts to retain the player then their base prices rises to 1 crore rupees.
This will surely be good news for quite a few youngsters and uncapped players who have gone on to play for India. For such players it can well be rags to riches story ahead of the start of IPL 2024.
