In a big blow to Team India, wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan got stung by a honeybee during practice at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. According to reports, Ishan Kishan got stung by honeybee during the nets while he was getting ready for session. The youngster was attended by team’s medical staff and went off immediately.
Earlier, batter Suryakumar Yadav got hit by the ball on his right wrist during the net session. Team India is already battling with Hardik Pandya’s injury who got ruled out of IND vs NZ due to ankle injury sustained in Bangladesh clash.
An official BCCI official further confirmed that all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja too is battling a niggle. However, the injury is not serious and he will be available for IND vs NZ clash like Hardik Pandya.
“Jadeja is fine. When you have surgery, you need long-term care. Knee injuries are such that they tend to hurt back. That is why he was applying an ice pack. There is no immediate concern regarding his niggle. The medical team and the physios are keeping a tab on all the players including Jadeja,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.
With 5 more matches to go, the management is reportedly keen to rest their key players once the semi-final spot is booked.
Players including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja are likely to be rested for few games to avoid any fatigue before the big semi-final.
India will rest Ravindra Jadeja once the semifinal spot is sealed. Ravindra Jadeja has already scalped 7 wickets in four games even though he hasn’t had to bat.
“It’s up to the team management whether they want to rotate the squad. But with crucial matches coming up, Jadeja is very important player for us. Maybe, once the semifinal spot is sealed, there could be rotations to keep the players fresh for knockouts,” the official added.
