After a bout of viral fever in the camp, Pakistan Cricket Team has suffered another big blow. Opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out at least for a week due to a knee injury. He will miss the PAK vs AUS (Pakistan vs Australia) Cricket World Cup clash. Salman Agha who is suffering from fever will also miss the game.
Pakistan Cricket Board has said that Fakhar Zaman is undergoing treatment and will be available for selection next week.
“Fakhar Zaman is being treated for a knee injury, he is expected to be available for selection next week,” Pakistan media manager said in a statement on Thursday.
Fakhar Zaman has played only match in the tournament so far. He was in Pakistan’s tournament opener against the Netherlands at Hyderabad. He made 12 runs in that match and was dropped.
Meanwhile, Agha Salman is also unwell. He is suffering from a fever after the training session on Wednesday.
“Salman Ali Agha developed a fever after last day’s (Wednesday) training session and he is recovering from it. All other players in the 15-member main squad are doing well,” Pakistan’s media manager added.
As many as six players missed the final practice session on Thursday in Bengaluru. Apart from Fakhar Zaman and Agha Salman, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, and Agha Salman along with Zaman Khan and Mohammad Haris missed the practice session.
However, they missed the practice as per workload management policy and not because of injury or illness.
