The Big Bash League (BBL) is a professional men’s Twenty20 cricket competition in Australia, established in 2011 under the auspices of Cricket Australia. The league is composed of eight franchises situated in various cities across the country.
BBL fixtures are scheduled during the Australian summer months of December, January, and February. Notably, in the 2016/17 season, the BBL ranked among the top ten domestic sports leagues in terms of average attendance, sharing this distinction with the Indian Premier League (IPL). BBL 12 (2022/2023) concluded with the Perth Scorchers claiming victory by defeating the Brisbane Heat by 5 wickets in the final match. The 2023-24 edition of BBL will commence on 7th December, with the Final scheduled on 24th of January 2024.
