In the opening IPL 2025 match between RCB and KKR, many wondered why Bengaluru’s new recruit Bhuvneshwar Kumar wasn’t playing. As it turns out, the India pacer had suffered a minor injury and had to sit in the dugout for the match. But now it seems that Bhuvi will be fit for their second clash vs CSK in Chennai, on March 28.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar Fit to Play in RCB vs CSK?
On Monday, RCB tweeted out a picture of the bowlers, with a caption reading “Bhuvi will be swinging back into action sooner and bolder than ever!” That only signals, that he is match ready, and will play RCB’s second match. It is important to note that the 35-year-old has played 176 IPL matches and picked up 181 wickets at an economy of 7.56 only.
Meanwhile, in Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s absence, J&K pacer Rasikh Salam was roped in, but wasn’t as effective. In the three overs he bowled, he went on record figures of 1/35 in three overs. Coming back to Bhuvi, he would be eyeing a solid match against CSK, as his record isn’t the best against MS Dhoni’s team.
Bhuvi’s Mediocre Record vs CSK
In 20 matches for various franchises vs CSK, he just has 20 wickets to his name at an average of 39. Though his economy stands at an excellent 6.90. After winning their first match solidly, now RCB would be looking to further strengthen their bowling attack, that has the likes of Josh Hazlewood and Krunal Pandya too.
