England Test skipper Ben Stokes on Wednesday announced he has undergone a successful surgery on his left knee. Stokes, who missed out the initial phase of the 2023 ODI World Cup with a niggling hip problem, came back into the side to help the Three Lions earn the Champions Trophy spot. Stokes pulled out of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 to undergo the surgery on his knee.
Stokes announced the completion of the surgery process on Instagram. He posted a picture of himself on crutches with the caption, ” In and out Under the 🔪 done. Rehab starts now.”
Stokes will be looking to complete his rehabilitation process as soon as possible to get back in shape. The injury has hampered his playing prowess to such an extent that the allrounder has not bowled since July 1.

Stokes, aged 32, put in a remarkable performance in an otherwise drab England side at the World Cup 2023. He had a stellar outing with the bat, scoring 304 runs in 6 matches in the tournament. Stokes finished as the second highest run-scorer for England in the tournament. His runs helped Three Lions secure a berth in the ICC Champions Trophy for the under-fire Jos Buttler-led team.
