How do you play Jasprit Bumrah? Cricket fans have no idea, and apparently neither does England cricket team skipper Ben Stokes. Ahead of the India vs England 3rd Test in Rajkot, the English skipper was asked how they would tackle the pace bowling menace.
‘No, not really’, this is what Stokes said when asked if England had any special plans in place to counter Jasprit Bumrah.
The No. 1 ranked Test bowler bamboozled England in Vizag. The seething yorker to Ollie Pope will be remembered for a long time, and his spell will inspire many future cricket stars.
Before the Rajkot Test went underway, Stokes had nothing but praise for the leader of India’s bowling attack. He stated that their plan is to try and score off Bumrah, but as evident, it hasn’t been easy.
”Jasprit Bumrah is an unbelievable bowler. He’s proven that for a very long time and has performed really well in the two games. I think everyone has to go their own way of not trying to deal with Bumrah but we do have to score runs off him as well and that’s what we’ll try to do.”
Stokes further added that there is no single plan to play Jasprit Bumrah, and each batter in his side will have to find their own way to tackle him.
”But when that doesn’t work, you just have to give credit to the bowler and Jasprit’s been outstanding the first two games. We’ve all got our own processes against every single bowler and there’s no team way of playing anyone.
