Ben Foakes practices for ‘low bounce’ Vizag wicket ahead of IND vs ENG 2nd Test

Foakes outperformed KS Bharat in the wicketkeeping department in the first Test and is often considered to be the best wicketkeeper in the world right now.

The England cricket team’s preparations for the IND vs ENG 2nd Test are in full flow. With uncertainty still looming over how the pitch at Vizag will play, England’s wicketkeeper Ben Foakes was seen doing ‘special drills’.

Foakes had done well in Hyderabad despite dropping KL Rahul in the first inning. By the end of the Test, many had touted Ben Foakes as a better wicketkeeper than his counterpart, KS Bharat.

The wicketkeeper who plays for Surrey had kept well on the spinning wicket in Hyderabad. However, the right-hander did struggle a bit when the ball kept low.

To prepare for the seemingly ‘low bounce’ wicket in Vizag, Ben Foakes was seen practicing for the difficult challenge that could await him in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test.

The special drills Ben Foakes was practicing aren’t uncommon for wicketkeepers. But, as evident in the video uploaded by England Cricket, the wicketkeeper was preparing for sudden low and high bounces.

The pitch and Hyderabad have seen consistent bounce for the most part, but every once in a while, a ball could be seen shooting little but up and keeping down.

This could be an indication of what awaits players in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag.
