Delhi Capitals batter-keeper Rishabh Pant can’t wait to make his return in IPL 2024. The star has been on the sidelines since December 2022 after he was involved in a horrific car crash. Pant obtained a fitness certificate from the NCA on Tuesday, thereby confirming his participation in IPL.
‘Wasn’t just a physical battle’: Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant tells TOI in an interview that his battle wasn’t just physical in nature. Recalling times during his recovery, Pant reveals that he used to get frustrated a lot during his stay at the NCA. The star says that he gave himself about three months of intense workout and emphasized on the key role of nutrition.
Pant talks about how staying off the field for over a year can take a toll on the player. He admits that he is not thinking too much about the future as it could put pressure on him.
“Amazing feeling. This was the thing we were waiting for. It’s been so long. I think you can cope with a layoff of 3-6 months. But when it goes beyond that it starts taking a toll. I just want to go out there, play and have fun. Not thinking too much about the future because you put too much pressure on yourself. Looking forward to each day as it comes,” Rishabh Pant says.
