India cricketer Mayank Agarwal reassured his fans about his health after being hospitalized in Agartala. Mayank fell ill on a Delhi-bound flight, experiencing a burning sensation in his mouth and throat. Admitted to the ILS hospital in Tripura, he spent the night in the ICU but is anticipated to be discharged soon.
“I am feeling better now. Gearing to comeback. Thank you for prayers, love and support, everyone!” Agarwal wrote as with a picture of him from his hospital bed.
Mayank Agarwal is expected to arrive in Bengaluru on Wednesday with his voice temporarily affected by “ulcers and swelling” on his lips. The incident occurred just hours before Karnataka’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match, compelling Agarwal to disembark from the Delhi-bound flight and seek immediate medical attention at a local hospital.
The hospital has confirmed Agarwal’s stability and placed him under observation, though speculation surrounds the cause of his distress. Agarwal, in response, filed a police complaint in Agartala, alleging foul play after consuming a suspicious liquid.
Initial reports detailed Agarwal’s experience of throat irritation and lip swelling after consuming water kept behind the seat pocket. Karnataka team manager Ramesh provided additional details, explaining Agarwal’s sudden discomfort and the prompt response from the crew, leading to an emergency landing and subsequent hospitalization.
