Be disciplined, no grouping: PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi sends stern warning to Pakistan players

PCB also confirmed that coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie have been included in the selection committee.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief, Mohsin Naqvi, has ordered that every player undergo fitness tests every three months after fitness issues were visible in some of them during the T20 World Cup. Various suggestions for improving the state of cricket in the country at every level were discussed with a number of officials at the NCA in Lahore.

The board’s chair, Mohsin Naqvi, said in a statement from the national cricket body, that there would be zero tolerance for violations of discipline. He also warned against grouping on the national side. The strong suggestions come after reports of a rift and misconduct in the Pakistan camp after their T20 World Cup flop show.

No compromise on discipline: Mohsin Naqvi

There will be no compromise on discipline. There will be a zero-tolerance policy against players who violate discipline. There should be unity and consensus within the team. Grouping players will not be tolerated,” Naqvi said in a Pakistan Cricket Board statement.

The board also confirmed that coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie have been included in the selection committee. “Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie are fully empowered. I have full confidence in them. Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie have been given a free hand. I hope both will give the best results,” Naqvi added.
