For the fans who missed out on getting tickets for the ODI World Cup 2023, there is finally a glimmer of hope as the second phase of tickets will go on sale from today. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will release 4,00,000 tickets for fans considering the huge demand for tickets at 8 PM. In the first batch that went online on August 30, there was astronomical demand with official ticket partner BookMyShow failing to satisfy all.
BookMyShow along with ICC is the official ticketing partner for the second phase of ticket sales. From 8 PM today, fans can book tickets on the ICC website.
“After discussions with the hosting state associations, the BCCI has announced the release of approximately 400,000 tickets for the highly anticipated tournament. This measure is aimed at accommodating as many passionate cricket fans as possible ensuring their participation in this historic event,” the BCCI said in a media statement.

World Cup 2023 Tickets
For the uninitiated, BookMyShow was the primary sponsor of tickets for World Cup 2023. However, fans did not have a pleasant experience despite promptly logging in at 8 PM every day on the site for India matches. Such was the anger of fans that BookMyShow had to issue an apology letter to fans stating it there was a huge demand for tickets that made the experience unpleasant. After a lot of hullabaloo, ICC and BCCI have still stuck with BookmyShow owing to its huge amount of experience, and their accuracy in the ticketing industry.
