BCCI to plan IPL-like league for retired legends after demand from ex-cricketers

BCCI Legends League? Former cricketers request BCCI to organize IPL like multi-city, auction based Legends League

Legends League is quite popular all across the globe. And now as per reports, the BCCI can just start their own Legends League. Further reports claim that some of the former players have requested BCCI Secretary Jay Shah to start it’s own league. The past players want the new league to just like the Indian Premier League (IPL).

All across the globe, the multiple Legends League include the likes of World Championship or Legends League Cricket. And now the BCCI might start their third league in India. After the IPL and WPL, the Legends League can become a reality soon.

BCCI’s own Legends League?

Not just IPL like bidding, the former players have also requested Jay Shah to have city based franchise teams just like it is the case with IPL. The BCCI is expected to explore all avenues to make the league a reality.

“We have received a proposal from former cricketers in this regard, which is being considered. However, it is still at the proposal stage,” a BCCI official told Dainik Jagran.

Reports claim that the BCCI can’t host the Legends League this season. First and foremost the league needs to be approved, followed by all the necessary things that are required to make it a success. And with IPL 2025 mega auction upcoming, if this Legends League by the BCCI becomes a reality, then it can only take place next year.
