BCCI shares big injury update, Rishabh Pant commences batting, keeping in nets

After sustaining serious injuries post an accident earlier this year, Rishabh Pant has made steady progress in his recovery and is currently at the NCA

In what can be a major boost for Team India, the BCCI on Friday provided an update regarding Rishabh Pant’s fitness. Pant, who sustained serious injuries after an accident earlier this year, has been undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA in Bengaluru. It looks like the star wicketkeeper-batter is getting back to the groove and is getting better with time.

BCCI provides update on Rishabh Pant’s fitness

In a press release, BCCI informed that Rishabh Pant has commenced batting and keeping of wickets in the nets. Noting that he has made significant progress in his rehabilitation, BCCI also shared that the southpaw is following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running.

Rishabh Pant’s car accident

Rishabh Pant was driving his Mercedes SUV on the Delhi-Dehradun highway near Roorkee on December 30, 2022, when he was involved in a near-fatal car accident. He suffered injuries to his head, back, and feet, as well as two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, injuries to his right wrist, ankle, and toe, and back abrasions.
