BCCI Selection Panel: Former Indian cricketer Hemang Badani has cleared the air about applying for the national selector’s post. Badani on Wednesday posted a tweet on his official Twitter account dismissing reports that claimed that he was in the race for the BCCI selector’s post. To note, Chetan Sharma and the group of the selection committee were sacked after India’s exit in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022 and BCCI has invited new applicants for the post. Badani played four Tests and 40 ODIs between 2000 and 2004. The left-hander’s elegant stroke play is still fresh in his fans’ memory. There were rumours that Badani has been in the race for the selector post. The former India batter has now dismissed all the rumours in a statement on social media.
“To all my lovely fans, well-wishers and friends. Just putting this out here to offer some clarity. As much I deem it a privilege and honour to be a part of the BCCI selection panel, I have not applied for the post as the rounds across various media have been doing. Wishing all the applicants the best,” Badani said in his post.

Among the notable names that have applied for the post are Maninder Singh, Nayan Mongia, Shiv Sundar Das, Rajesh Chauhan, Sameer Dighe, Atul Wassan, and Laxman Sivaramakrishnan.
A few other names also include Ajay Ratra, Nikhil Chopra, Gyanendra Pandey, Pravanjan Mullick, Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Sanjay Raul, Saradindu Mukherjee, Subhomoy Das, D Vasu and Gursharan Singh.
