The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking for a spin bowling coach for their Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. This job is important for helping India’s spin bowlers do better in all types of cricket and for players of all ages.
The coming coach will be the replacement of Sairaj Bahutule, who previously served as the spin bowling coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru before joining the Rajasthan Royals as their spin bowling coach for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
New addition to VVS Laxman’s Arsenal
The spin bowling coach will team up with the Head of Cricket, VVS Laxman, at the Centre of Excellence. They will create and run special coaching programmes and keep track of how well the players are doing. The coach will also coordinate with selectors, national and state coaches, performance analysts, and fitness experts to make high-performance training plans.
Responsibility of the new spin coach
The coach will work with top teams, including the men’s and women’s national teams, as well as junior teams like India A, U-23, U-19, U-16, and U-15. They will also work with players from state associations who train at the Centre. The last date to apply is 5 pm on April 10, 2025.

Qualifications needed for the role
Applicants should have been a former India cricketer or played at least 75 first-class matches in India. You need at least three years of coaching experience from within the last seven years with a high-performance centre, like an international team, India A, India U-19, India Women, or an IPL team. Plus, you should have a BCCI COE Level 3 or Level 2 Performance Coach degree, or something similar, and a good record of making and following up on high-performance and player growth plans.
