The BCCI has announced the committee for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) which has been tasked to take WPL forward in a new direction. BCCI President Roger Binny has been given the position as the Chairperson while Jay Shah is been adjudged as the Convenor.
The Apex Cricketing body in the country has decided to put more emphasis on Women’s Cricket. As a result, just 2 days prior to the WPL 2024 Auction, the BCCI has announced the WPL Committee that will be headed by the BCCI chief, Mr. Roger Binny.
The committee members for the Women’s Premier League are as follows:
Mr Roger Binny – Chairperson
Mr Jay Shah – Convenor
Mr Arun Dhumal – IPL Chairperson
Mr Rajeev Shukla – BCCI vice-president
Mr Ashish Shelar – BCCI Honorary Treasurer
Mr Devajit Saikia – BCCI Honorary Jt. Secretary
Mrs Madhumati Lele
Mr Prabhtej Bhatia
The main agenda for the BCCI is to put more emphasis on Women’s Cricket and what better way to do it in the WPL. The BCCI has also included people from different backgrounds to improve the diversity in the sport.
