India cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir has found himself in the eye of the storm following the series defeat to New Zealand. Reports have claimed that the former cricketer’s tenure could be cut short, should Rohit Sharma and co. go on to lose the IND vs AUS Test series. Adding to this, another development has emerged which suggests that the BCCI is considering having separate coaches for red-ball and white-ball formats.
Split coach approach for India?
As per Dainik Jagaran, National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman could be named India’s Test coach while Gautam Gambhir is expected to carry on as the white-ball coach. All this only if India lose the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series to Australia badly. VVS Laxman is currently traveling with the Indian side for the IND vs SA T20Is.
