After the conclusion of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the BCCI issued a mandate that there will be restrictions on the duration of stay of family of the players. Now, as per reports, the BCCI has apparently allowed the player’s families to watch 1 match of the ICC Champions Trophy. But for doing so, they do need to seek permission from the board.
As per the new mandate, the families of the players are allowed for a short duration only if an overseas tour exceeds 45 days. As a result, there is no provision for the same during the ICC Champions Trophy.
New adjustment for player families in ICT
As per a report from Dainik Jagran, the BCCI has made special provisions this time. The families of the India Cricket Team players will be allowed to witness 1 game of the ICC Champions Trophy. But for doing so, permission should be taken from the BCCI previously.
The new mandate also laid down provisions where the players have been tasked to travel together at all times in the team busses. No player without special permission is allowed to travel to training alone or leave training early as has been the case previously.
As for Team India, the Men in Blue will kick start the mega ICC tournament on 20th February. Rohit Sharma and Co will take on Bangladesh which will be followed by the much anticipated game against Pakistan. India will play all their matches at Dubai after the team refused to travel to Pakistan.
