IND vs BAN & IND vs ENG T20 venues changed, BCCI announces revised schedule

Team India is currently on a month-long break after which a jam-packed home season will begin.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made several alterations to the upcoming home season schedule for the Indian men’s cricket team. One of the changes include the shift of venue from Dharamsala to Gwalior for opening T20I against Bangladesh on October 6.

Changes to India schedule

The most notable change involves the first T20I against Bangladesh, originally slated for Dharamsala on October 6, 2024. Due to ongoing renovation work in the dressing rooms at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, the match has been shifted to Gwalior. This will be the first international cricket match at the newly constructed Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, a historic moment for the city. It is the same city that witnessed the unprecedented 200 by Sachin Tendulkar against South Africa in 2010.

Swap in venues for IND vs ENG

Furthermore, the BCCI has swapped the venues for the first two T20Is against England. The opening match, previously scheduled for Kolkata, will now be played in Chennai, while the second T20I will shift from Chennai to Kolkata. This decision was made following a request from Kolkata Police due to their commitments on Republic Day (2025).
