BCCI lends helping hand to Nepal, organises Friendship Cup against Baroda and Gujarat

T20 World Cup: BCCI organises Friendship Cup to help Nepal prepare for T20 World Cup against Baroda and Gujarat

The BCCI has lent a helping hand to the Nepal Cricket Team. With the T20 World Cup on the horizon, the BCCI has organised a T20 tournament – Friendship Cup. The Nepal team will play a Tri series tournament against Gujarat and Baroda. This will immensely help the neighbouring country in their preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup.

The tri series tournament is slated to start on 31st March and will continue till 7th April. Nepal will face Baroda and Gujarat twice in the group stage matches before the finals are to be played. The final of the Friendship Cup will be held on 7th April. All the matches are slated to played in Vapi, in Gujarat.

The ICC T20 World Cup is not far away. With time running out, the BCCI has decided to help Nepal Cricket Team in their preparation. Nepal has qualified for the mega tournament. The Asian side is slated to take on Netherlands in their opening clash of the tournament.

The T20 World Cup will commence from 2nd June. A total of 20 teams are taking part in the tournament. Coming to the Friendship Cup – both Baroda and Gujarat are strong sides. But majority of the Indian players won’t be a part of the competition. This is mainly due to the fact that the Indian stars would be busy in the IPL.
