With holidays and Cricket World Cup, BCCI has extended the deadline for IPL 2024 Retention to Nov 26. Earlier, the deadline was Nov 15. But it meant, the official TV broadcaster Star Sports would have to release the list during Cricket World Cup semifinal. With the new deadline, both BCCI and the broadcaster have averted a disaster. Meanwhile, as reported earlier, IPL 2024 Auction will take place in Dubai on December 19 which will clash with India Tour of South Africa.
The IPL 2024 Auction will take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. BCCI has officially confirmed the auction venue to all 10 franchises in an email on Friday.
Before the exciting auction, franchises will have to finalise retention list by November 26. While the deadline was Nov 15 previously, it has been extended.
All franchises will have a total of Rs 100 Crore salary purse, increased by Rs 5 Crore as announced by BCCI before the mega auction in 2022.
Punjab Kings have the highest remaining purse of Rs 12.20 Crore while Mumbai Indians are left with zero after the trade of Romario Shepherd from Lucknow Super Giants.
