BCCI Domestic Cricket: What comes a big development for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it is set to host record 1054 matches in the new calendar year. As many as 13 tournaments will be played to compensate for COVID-19 shelved matches last season.
“It is a massive astro-turfing exercise that the BCCI has undertaken and 1054 domestic matches under bio-secure environment will be no mean task. It’s a record no cricketing nations can boast of in these times,” a BCCI official told Cricbuzz.
BCCI Domestic Cricket: The tournaments will be conducted in as many as 25 cities. More than 75 cities and 220 rooms will be booked across each city for the BCCI domestic season.
“The enormity of the task can be gauged from the fact that the bio-secure bubbles will be created in over 25 cities and more than 75 hotels with at least 220 rooms in each city,” the BCCI official added.
BCCI ties with Apollo Hospitals for bio-bubble security
BCCI Domestic Cricket: BCCI has joined hands with the Apollo Hospitals to create the Covid-proof bio-secure environment. They will look to prevent any COVID positive cases that had breached the bubble last season. The players will undergo six days of mandatory quarantine ahead of the knockout rounds.
