The BCCI central contracts for 2025/26 will be rolled out following the conclusion of Champions Trophy 2025, as per reports. The contracts for the players are usually announced before the IPL. However, this time, the BCCI is waiting for the marquee event to conclude to make the announcement. India are one win away from winning another ICC title and will take on New Zealand in the final on Sunday.
BCCI central contracts to be announced after Champions Trophy
As per Times of India, the BCCI wanted to see how the team performed in Champions Trophy before announcing the central contracts. The decision stems from the fact that India had a disastrous Test season prior to the tournament, losing against both New Zealand and Australia. The report states that the board is expected to revisit the Grade A+ contracts. Currently, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are a part of the top grade.
“With the BCCI’s policy suggesting that players performing in all three formats are preferred for A+ contracts, there were some concerns with Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja retiring from T20Is and also enduring a very rough Test season. However, Champions Trophy can help these players retain the marquee contract,” the report read.

However, with his consistent performances for Mumbai and India, he is all set to return to the fold once again.
