Shubman Gill went down memory lane and shared an unseen image with then-Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Earlier today, the opener was given the Best International Cricketer award at the 2024 BCCI Awards. The Gujarat Titans skipper shared an image of him holding the trophy awarded to him and a nostalgic image of him and Kohli together from 10 years ago, when Gill was just 14.
After being given the prestigious award, Harsha Bhogle asked the batter about the upcoming five-match Test series against England. Expressing his excitement to play a five-match series for the first time, Shubman Gill said:
I am excited to play against England. 5 Test matches— I haven’t played such a series, but it will be interesting.
On him batting at the number three spot instead of opening, he said:
Batting at 3 is new, and I am learning a lot. I get a little break from fielding at short leg.
