Complete Awards

CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award – Ravi Shastri – It is a very touching moment. I started at 17 and finished at 30, BCCI were by guardian. There was pride in playing for the country. I saw the BCCI grow up in 40 years and become a powerhouse. It is a special evening for me. To pick one moment is difficult, 1985 final vs Pakistan was special in Melbourne. 1983 when India when the World Cup. But in commentary, 2007 and 2011 when India won. But the icing on the cake was the last day at the Gabba when Rishabh Pant took us past the finishing line. What I learnt in the team is that you have to enjoy. I am happy for the current Indian team, it is unfortunate that they didn’t win the World Cup. But the way they played, the time will come. It is a marquee series, play hard, play hard, play well within the rules and spirits, and spirits after the playing hours.

CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award – Farokh Engineer – It is an awesome feeling. When I got the call from Jay Shah, I thought they were pulling my leg. In Lancashire they have a stand named after me. But the award you get from your country and getting a standing ovation from the finest Indian Cricket Team is a wonderful job. I wish Rohit and boys have a wonderful series. I was blessed in an ordinary parsi family. We didn’t play for money. We got 50 rupees. We played for the love of the game and enjoyed it immensely. There were no helmets, the bat was thin. The game has progressed and watching the boys doing so well. In 1971, when you play in England, 80% of the crowd is Indians, that gave us the imputes. I wanted to be a pilot. Times changed, I was fortunate to be the first Indian to be offered by Country Cricket. To get recognition from India, tops it all.

Best International Cricketer for Men

2019-20 – Mohammed Shami – It is a different feeling. When you work so hard and come from a place where there is a dearth of opportunities. I have played mostly with injuries. Thanks to the doctors and the support staff. I am happy with the team for always supporting me.
2020-21 – Ravi Ashwin – Bazball excites me. The kind of cricket impresses me. The fearless approach is good and I am standing here knowing what to expect. Numbers don’t excite me now, in pressure situations these numbers go in the backyard.
2021-22 – Jasprit Bumrah – Being a father is the best feeling in the world and he has come here, first series for him. I have played a lot of first class cricket. Though the number of Test cricket is less, the experience helps. The SA series was fun.
