BCCI AGM Agenda – The 90th AGM of the BCCI concluded in Kolkata with the major decision being on India’s Tour of South Africa. The BCCI office-bearers agree to go on with the tour but shelved the four-match T20 series which will now happen later. Among other big decisions, Brijesh Patel was re-elected as the IPL chairman. The three-match Tests and as many ODIs will now begin on December 26 while the venues will be decided at a later date. The four T20Is originally part of the tour will now be played at a later date.

“India’s tour of South Africa, 2021-22, will proceed with the revised dates and itinerary. The team will participate in a three-match Test series followed by a three-match ODI series starting December 26th, 2021,” the BCCI said in a statement.

The South Africa tour will now be pushed by a week with the team leaving on December 16 instead of December 9.

BCCI AGM Agenda: Decisions taken in the AGM

  1. Two representatives in the Indian Premier League Governing Council were inducted – Mr Brijesh Patel and Mr MKJ Majumdar.
  2. Mr Pragyan Ojha was inducted as the representative of the Indian Cricketers Association in the IPL Governing Council.
  3. The Annual Budget of FY 2021-22 was adopted by the General Body.
  4. The audited accounts for FY 2019-20 and 2020-21 were adopted by the General Body.
  5. The BCCI announced the formation of the Tours, Fixtures and Technical Committee, Umpires Committee and Differently Abled Cricket Committee.
  6. The Age Limit of Match Officials and Support Staff has been increased to 65 from 60 years subject to their fitness.
  7. The infrastructure development of the North-Eastern States, Puducherry, Bihar and Uttarakhand will be initiated by the BCCI.
  8. India’s tour of South Africa, 2021-22, will proceed with the revised dates and itinerary. The team will participate in a three-match Test series followed by a three-match ODI series starting December 26th, 2021.
  9. The AGM approved five-day Tests for the women’s team.

Amongst other decisions made in the AGM, Karnataka’s Brijesh Patel will continue to be the chair of the IPL Governing Council while MKJ Majumder was also inducted into the GC.

Pragyan Ojha was also inducted as the representative of the Indian Cricketers Association in the IPL Governing Council.

However, no decision was made on the CVC-Ahmedabad matter as the office bearers are waiting to hear from the four-member independent committee. The committee is expected to give verdict in the next four days.

Once, they have a decision on the new franchise, BCCI will announce the IPL 2022 auction dates and city.
