BBL 2023-24: David Warner makes grand chopper entrance in Sydney

Australia's David Warner, who recently retired from Tests and ODIs, made his entrance at the SCG in a chopper for the BBL 2023 game

David Warner made a grand entrance at the SCG for the BBL 2023 game between the Thunders and the Sixers. The Aussie southpaw, who signed off recently in a victorious fashion from ODIs and Tests, arrived in a chopper to the venue, creating quite a spectacle for the fans. Warner reportedly landed directly from his brother’s wedding for the T20 game.

WATCH David Warner arrive in style

“I’ve got a couple of helicopters on standby, weather permitting,” David Warner said after his final Test against Pakistan. “It’s a tight squeeze with the wedding, but I’m determined to make it happen!”

Warner’s return coincides with his potential opening partnership with Cam Bancroft, the player who replaced him in the Test team. Talk about adding fuel to the fire!

On the opposing side, Steve Smith, who surprisingly took Warner’s Test spot, will be opening for the Sixers alongside Bancroft, who will keep wicket. Could there be some frosty stares across the pitch?
