Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim created a history of sorts as he completed a rare double of 1000 runs and 50 wickets in a calendar year, in T20s. He crossed the landmark while playing for Melbourne Stars in BBL 13. Surprisingly, this is a feat that has only been attained the fourth time, with Kieron Pollard, Azhar Mahmood, and Andre Russell being the others to do so previously.
Meanwhile, Imad announced his retirement from the Pakistani team just last month, after being constantly ignored for national duties. In a career spanning eight years, he played 55 ODIs, and 66 T20Is for the Pakistani team. In fact, he had a stellar showing in the PSL 8, where he scored 404 runs in 10 innings at an average of 134, and a strike-rate over 170. Not just that, he also took nine wickets.
His best moment for Pakistan came when he lifted the Champions Trophy in 2017, after beating India in the final. Apart from that, he was part of the national setup during the 2016 T20 World Cup, 2019 World Cup, and 2021 T20 World Cup.
