India Cricket Team’s ace all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is ready to face England in the IND vs ENG Test series. The ace spinner has claimed that he is excited by Bazball. Ashwin won the BCCI Men’s player of the year for 2020-21. Ahead of the marquee series, Ashwin is ready to counter Brendon McCullum’s aggressive brand of cricket.
India are slated to take on England for a 5-match Test series. The first test kick starts on 25th January. But for Ashwin, it is a venture into the unknown. Ashwin has claimed that he is excited by Bazball and is willing to counter it.
“Bazball excites me. The kind of cricket impresses me. The fearless approach is good and I am standing here knowing what to expect,” said Ashwin while receiving his BCCI’s Men’s Player of the Year award.
Ashwin is impressed with England’s new brand of cricket and is keen to face it for the first time. The spinner claimed that the aggressive and fearless approach is Test cricket is new and interesting. Furthermore he claimed it is an exciting feeling of having no idea of what to expect from the opposition.
Ashwin is also on the cusp of breaking a huge record. He is now just 10 wickets shy of scalping 500 Test wickets. When questioned, he replied, “Numbers don’t excite me now. It used to do when I was a kid. Now, in pressure situations these numbers go in the backyard, the focus is on winning the game.”
