The Odisha Cricket League (OCL) will be hosted by the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack starting on June 30. The OCA secretary, Sanjay Behera, announced at a press conference that all of the T20 matches would take place at the international stadium between June 30 and July 17.
Six teams in all have signed up for this league. The massive athletic event will feature the Odisha Lions, Odisha Tigers, Odisha Jaguars, Odisha Pumas, Odisha Panthers, and Odisha Cheetahs taking to the field.
The Odisha Tigers will be captained by Rakesh Patnaik, while Biplab Samantray will lead the Cheetahs. Sandeep Patnaik is the captain of the Odisha Panthers. Similarly, Suryakant Pradhan has been nominated to captain the Odisha Lions, while Karthik Biswal will lead Pumas. Shantanu Mishra is the captain of the Jaguars.

According to Behera, there will be 33 games in this league, with each team playing ten games. The Odisha Cricket Association has red and green caps for maximum wicket takers and highest run scorers. The concept is similar to the Indian Premier League.
The state’s most promising players have been chosen by the OCA selection committee. Forty percent of the new talent who participated in the Kalahandi Cup and did well have joined this league. Behera said that three matches will be played each day. Behera stated that the performing players will have the chance to compete in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
