What happens if IND vs SA T20 World Cup 2024 Final is washed out?

In the event that rain disrupts the T20 World Cup 2024 final between India and South Africa, provisions are in place to ensure the completion of the match. If weather delays or interrupts play, an additional 190 minutes will be allocated to attempt finishing the game on the same day. However, if a result is not achievable within this timeframe and at least 10 overs have not been bowled to the side batting second, the match will be rescheduled to a reserve day.

On the reserve day, efforts will be made to complete the match under the ICC’s playing conditions. If play on the scheduled day is curtailed and overs are reduced, but further play is impossible, the match will resume on the reserve day from the point where the last ball was played.

What if the T20 World Cup 2024 Final reserve day is washed out too?

Should the reserve day also be affected by adverse weather conditions and play cannot commence or complete, and even the Super Over is not feasible, the final will result in a tie. According to ICC rules, a Super Over will be conducted to determine the winner in case of a tie. However, if weather conditions prevent the Super Over from taking place or concluding, or if no result is possible despite the Super Over, both teams – South Africa and India – will be declared joint winners of the T20 World Cup 2024.
