Bangladesh Playing XI 1st Test: IND vs BAN 1st Test – Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo has confirmed that Taskin Ahmed will be rested for the first Test against India. The hosts also received a massive scare ahead of the first Test as all-rounder, and skipper Shakib Al Hasan was rushed to hospital. An update on the veteran player will be provided. For now, Bangladesh hint at playing an additional spinner in Chattogram. IND ban 1st Test in Chattogram begins on Wednesday. Follow IND vs BAN 1st Test Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.
Apart from Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Bangladesh have Taijul Islam, as the other spin bowling option. With Taskin Ahmed rested, pacer Ebadot Hossain will lead the pace attack. With Chattogram’s pitch slightly favoring spinners more than pacers, Bangladesh are likely to include Taijul in place of Taskin.

Bangladesh Playing XI 1st Test: What to expect?
- Bangladesh are without their pace spearhead Takin, who has still not completely gained fitness.
- An update on Shakib will be provided later in the day. BCB officials have denied any serious blow to their skipper.
- Batting looks sorted for Bangladesh, with Anamul Haque, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Mominul Haque manning the top order.
- Bowling looks slightly on the weaker side with Taskin’s absence. With Hossain fixed as a lead pacer, a toss up between Khaled Ahmed and Rejaur Rahman Raja will be on for the second pacers spot
- Shoriful Islam is the other fast bowler, but he has failed to make an impact in the Tests so far, picking eight wickets in five games.
- Islam though provides the team with a left-hand option. Considering India’s weakness against left-hand pacers, Islam might just get the nod.
