Bangladesh on Monday kept their momentum with a 21-run win over Nepal ahead of the Super Eight clashes in T20 World Cup 2024. The Bangladesh bowlers provided an excellent display to successfully defend 106 runs.
Bangladesh batters have forgettable outing
Nepal won the toss and chose to field first on a surface that has not seen too many runs being scored. Nepal got off to a strong start, picking up Tanzin Hasan’s wicket on the first ball of the match. From then on, Bangladesh kept losing wickets at regular intervals as no batter could stay long enough at the crease to mitigate Bangladesh’ trouble.
Four bowlers of Nepal, namely Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, Rohit Paudel and Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets each while Nepal fielders also executed two run outs.

Chasing 107, the Nepal batters struggled as well in the Arnos Vale Stadium. The top order failed miserably as Bangladesh fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib ran riot through the Nepal line up. Sakib took four wickets as Mustafizur Rahman took 3 wickets. Although Dipendra Singh Airee made an effort at the end to salvage the game, it the was too late as the required run-rate became too steep.
