Bangladesh hold first practice session in Chennai ahead of IND vs BAN Test series

Bangladesh started their preparations for the Test series against India with a practice session at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Bangladesh held their first practice session on Monday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai ahead of their opening Test match against India on 19th September. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) shared a brief video on their official X handle showcasing the team’s preparation ahead of IND vs BAN test series.

The team, currently in excellent form, recently achieved a historic whitewash over Pakistan, winning their first Test series on Pakistani soil. They secured a dominant 10-wicket win in the first Test and a six-wicket win in the second. During the practice, the batters focused on countering India’s anticipated spin challenge during throwdown sessions. Meanwhile, spinners familiarised themselves with the pitch, followed by pacers bowling in the nets.

Bangladesh’s arrival in India

On Sunday, Bangladesh, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, arrived in Chennai for the first Test at the iconic Chepauk Stadium, set to begin on September 19. During a pre-departure press conference in Dhaka, Najmul acknowledged the challenges of the upcoming series against India but noted that the team is buoyed by the confidence gained from their recent success against Pakistan.
