The present scenario of unrest and riots in Bangladesh will not affect the Women’s T20 World Cup, the BCB chief said on Saturday. Currently, there is widespread unrest in the country over reservation quota for students.
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury confirmed to Cricbuzz that they board was going to stick with the plan and go on to prepare to host the Women’s T20 WC. The tournament is scheduled to be held between October 3-20.

“As of today all I know is that we are hosting the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup as per plan and we are working accordingly keeping that in mind,” BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury said.
What the ICC said
The ICC is also reportedly monitoring the situation closely. The 10-team Women’s T20 World Cup will be played over 18 days in Dhaka and Sylhet. The final will be on October 20. Dhaka is currently facing the unrest.
“We are closely monitoring the situation, but the event is still some time away. The situation appears to have improved over the last 24 hours,” Cricbuzz quoted an ICC source as saying.
