Bangladesh clinch U19 Asia Cup title, thrash UAE by 195 runs

Bangladesh U19 had defeated India in the semi-final match of the U19 Asia Cup.

Bangladesh U19 side completed a thumping win over UAE to clinch the U19 Asia Cup title. After winning against India in semi-final clash, Bangladesh had no problems in defeating UAE as they thrashed them by 195 runs in the final match played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (December 17).

Speaking about the match, UAE U19 won the toss and opted to have a bowl first. Opener Ashiqur Rahman Shibli was excellent with the bat as he smashed 129 off 149 balls. Apart from him, Chowdhury Md Rizwan (60 runs) and Ariful Islam (50 runs) were the other notable performers for Bangladesh U19 side.

For UAE U19, Ayman Ahamed continued his good run in the tournament as he finished with four wickets in the final of U19 Asia Cup. Apart from him, Omid Rahman grabbed two wickets while Hardik Pai and Dhruv Parashar scalped one wicket each. Bangladesh U19 finished their allotted 50 overs after scoring 282 runs.

In reply, Bangladesh was all over UAE U19. The chasing side kept losing wickets at the regular intervals as they were bundled out for just 87 runs in 24.5 overs. Dhruv Parashar (25*) was the highest run-scorer for his side. For Bangladesh U19, Maruf Mridha and Rohanat Doullah Borson scalped three wickets each for their side. Md Iqbal Hossain Emmon and Parvez Rahman Jibon shared four wickets between them as Bangladesh U19 went on to clinch the prized trophy.
