Pakistan had a heart-breaking exit in the semi-final round after a stellar campaign of five wins on the trot in the marquee event. Deemed as pre-tournament favourites, the Men in Green suffered 5 wickets defeat against Australia in the semi-final 2, eventually got knocked out of the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh on the other hand, had a horrendous outing in the Super 12 round as they failed to secure a single win, facing five defeats on the trot.

Cut to the present scene, Babar Azam’s Pakistan will start as favorites against the host Bangladesh. The likes of Babar Azam and Mohd Rizwan dominated the leading run-scorer charts while Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf had a stellar tournament with the ball.

The hosts dominated in the last two T20I series at home against New Zealand and Australia but miss out on experienced campaigners in the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, M Saifuddin, and Rubel Hossain.

Bangladesh have named four under-19 players in the T20 squad and will have to punch above their weight to get a desired scoreline in the three-match series.
