BAN vs PAK Live Score 2nd Test: Pakistan 161/2 at Day 2 Stumps- Rain continued to play hide and seek in the ongoing second Test. The play resumed for a few overs but the showers had the last laugh. Earlier, an early lunch was also taken at Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
Babar Azam & Co made the best of the moment in the dressing room despite rain playing spoilsport. “Rain might have kept our boys off the field, but they had a gripping match of their own in the dressing room. Babar Azam batted first, and had a cautious start,” PCB wrote along with a funny video.

Azhar Ali reached his 34th career fifty as only 38 balls’ play was possible on the second day of the second Test in which Pakistan added 27 runs to their overnight score to reach 188 for two against Bangladesh on Sunday.
After there was no play in the first session, play resumed following an early lunch and Pakistan began confidently and convincingly before rain halted play after 6.2 overs. Shortly before rain ended the second day’s play, Azhar Ali hit back to back boundaries off Ebadot Hossain to complete his 34th 50 in his 91st Test. When day’s play was finally called off, Azhar was batting on 52 after beginning the day at 36.
Babar Azam, who was 60 overnight in Pakistan’s 161 for two, started impressively with a boundary off the first ball of the day and was still at the crease on 71 with eight fours and a six.
The two batters have so far added 118 runs for the unfinished third-wicket partnership.

Earlier on Day 1, Babar Azam and Azhar Ali looked strong on Day 1 as they ended Day 1 with 161/2. Babar Azam and Ali remained unbeaten on 60 and 36 runs respectively. The duo will look to go after big scores and take Pakistan to a convincing total in their first innings. Earlier Abid Ali and Abdullah Shafique provided an impressive start after Pakistan won the toss. Taijul Islam was the pick of the bowlers with a couple of wickets.
The play did not resume after the tea break, with Pakistan, who chose to bat, on 161-2 as Azam hit an unbeaten 60 off 99 balls. Azam led the batting charge hitting seven fours and a six so far, and brought up his 19th Test fifty after rain briefly halted the game.
Bangladesh reviewed the not out call from the on-field umpire and with the ultra-edge showing an inconclusive touch of the ball to bat, the decision could not be overturned.
Pakistan lead the two-Test series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Chittagong by eight wickets.
The visitors fielded an unchanged squad from the first Test while Bangladesh handed Mahmudul Hasan a Test debut and brought in Shakib Al Hasan and Khaled Ahmed in three changes to the team.
Saif Hassan, Yasir Ali and Abu Jayed were dropped from the opening Test.

Toss Update: Pakistan won the toss and opt to bat
Bangladesh trail the two-match Test series 1-0 after being beaten by eight wickets in Chittagong, where they badly missed a strike bowler. The hosts were also whitewashed by Pakistan 3-0 in their Twenty20 series.
But Bangladesh have won five of their last seven Tests at Dhaka’s Mirpur Stadium, including beating England and Australia, which will give them confidence that they can repeat the feat there when the Test starts Saturday.
Skipper Mominul Haque is hoping for pitch conditions at Mirpur to match those at Chittagong, where Bangladesh were competitive in the first four days.

“I prefer wickets like this. I think we had a perfectly flat wicket, which was helpful for the batsmen, but the pacers faced hurdles,” Mominul said after losing the first Test.
Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Taijul Islam staged a lone battle to claim 7-116 in the first innings. But Pakistan cruised to an ultimately easy win, despite his efforts, thanks to a 151-run opening stand from Abid Ali and Abdullah Shafique.
Taijul’s regular spin partner Shakib missed the contest after a hamstring injury suffered during last month’s Twenty20 World Cup. Shakib was included in the first Test squad with hopes he would recover in time, but he was subsequently ruled out.

Bangladesh also missed the services of pace bowler Taskin after he injured his finger during the final Twenty20 international against Pakistan on November 22. Taskin had been in fine Test form since making his comeback to the side after a four-year absence, picking up 11 wickets in three matches.
A number of changes are expected for the hosts for the second Test, with illness sidelining opening batsman Saif Hassan. Bangladesh selectors named a 19-member squad, mindful of the upcoming series in New Zealand, where they will travel two days after the Dhaka Test.
Pakistan batsman Abid Ali, who scored 133 and 91 runs in the first Test, says that their previous wins count for nothing. “It will be a new day and we need to bat with a positive mind,” he said. Pakistan sit second in the World Test Championship table.
