Like T20Is, Pakistan have complete dominance over Bangladesh in the longer format too. They have won 9 out of 10 Tests while Bangladesh has managed just 1 draw. Bangladesh’s only draw came in 2015 when Tamim scored a maiden Test double hundred.
With Tamim Iqbal & Shakib Al Hasan both missing out, Pakistan will again start as favorites. Tamim Iqbal was left out of the Test squad as he recovers from a finger injury while Shakib Al Hasan suffered a hamstring injury during the T20 World Cup 2021. Bangladesh will be heavily reliant on the likes of skipper Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim.
On the other hand, Pakistan will be without its frontline spinner Yasir Shah. Since 2014, Yasir Shah has picked up 235 wickets in 46 Tests and has been a premier leg spinner for his side. He is out as he has been nursing a thumb injury since September.
Azhar Ali, skipper Babar Azam, Fawad Alam will be the key for Pakistan with the bat while the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, and Nauman Ali will be crucial with the ball.
