Back with vengeance! World Cup snubbed Sanju Samson rocks SMAT with stunning fifties

Sanju Samson flies high in SMAT, slams stunning fifty vs Odisha after Cricket World Cup snub

Sanju Samson who failed to get his chance in the India Cricket Team squad for the Cricket World Cup is scoring runs in a flurry in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The destructive batter slammed 55 runs from just 31 runs hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes against Odisha to guide Kerala to a 50-run victory.

Fans were left disappointed when Sanju Samson failed to grab his spot in the India squad for the World Cup. As a result, the Rajasthan Royals skipper joined the Kerala team early to begin his preparation for the SMAT. After a couple of poor starts, he found his form very soon and started hitting shots out of the park.

In the previous game against Chandigarh, Samson slammed 52 runs from 32 balls where he managed to hit 3 sixes and 4 fours guiding his side to a 7-run victory.

Sanju Samson had found it very hard to settle in the Indian Cricket Team. He was a traveling reserve for the Indian team during the Asia Cup. He was brought in as a replacement for the injured KL Rahul. But it was Ishan Kishan who was stationed the wickets. When KL Rahul became fit and traveled to Sri Lanka, Sanju returned to India.

Sanju Samson’s fears came true when his name was not taken into consideration by Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid for the India squad for the World Cup. But the RR skipper didn’t waste his time, he began his preparations for SMAT. With Sanju Samson continuing a fine run of form he is expected to amass a flurry of runs.

This in turn will prompt Rahul Dravid to think about his inclusion in the team for the IND vs AUS T20 series. As per information available with InsideSport, all senior players will be rested following the Cricket World Cup campaign. Having lost his place in the ODI team for the WC, Sanju Samson will have to capitalize on every opportunity with the T20 World Cup 2024 starting in June.
