Back with Team India? Snubbed Sanju Samson ‘joins’ Team India for World Cup

The 28-year-old on Tuesday took to Instagram to share the image and wrote a cheeky caption.

Indian cricketer Sanju Samson is back with Team India in his hometown Kerala but in a unique way. The Indian players, who arrived in Thiruvananthapuram for IND vs NED World Cup warm up game, were spotted practicing in front of a huge wall painting of Sanju Samson.

Samson is a local boy in Kerala and enjoys a massive fan following. Notably, the wall painting also have ‘Super Samson’ written below.

The 28-year-old on Tuesday took to Instagram to share the image and wrote a cheeky caption to welcome his teammates in Kerala.

“With Team India @ Gods own country !!
✌🏽😁”, Samson captioned the picture.

Meanwhile, after being snubbed from Asia Cup & World Cup squads, Samson is back in domestic cricket with Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) for Kerala. The Rajasthan Royals skipper has joined the Kerala camp as he begins his preparation for the SMAT, which begins from October 16.

IND vs NED World Cup warm-up abandoned due to rain

Meanwhile, Team India’s second warm-up match against the Netherlands got called off without a toss due to rain. Earlier, IND vs ENG warm-up match was washed out in Guwahati. It had looked like there might be some cricket when the rain stopped but it returned after a brief stoppage which forced umpires to call off the game.

Team India will now face Australia in World Cup opener against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
