Back with a bang! Vintage Rishabh Pant smashes first fifty since return, joins ICC T20 World Cup race

DC vs CSK: Rishabh Pant hammers fifty against Chennai Super Kings, joins ICC T20 World Cup race for keeper's spot

And he is back with a bang! After 2 rusty knocks, Rishabh Pant is back to smashing big hits as is customary from him. Rishabh Pant hammered a 31-ball fifty after making his comeback to cricket. The Delhi Capitals unleashed his fury against Chennai Super Kings in the DC vs CSK clash in IPL 2024.

And in the grand scheme of things, it is very good news for the Indian Cricket Team. With the ICC T20 World Cup just on the horizon, Rishabh Pant’s comeback to cricket and return to form is what Team India needs.

Rishabh Pant’s fifty will make him join the race for the keeper’s spot for India in the World Cup. The DC keeper began his innings on a rather slow note. However, he soon switched gears to go all guns blazing. In the end Pant bludgeoned 4 fours and 3 sixes to bar at a strike rate of around 160.

And with this knock he joins the long race of candidates for the keeper’s spot for T20 World Cup. KL Rahul is the designated keeper as is Jitesh Sharma. But it will be foolish to forget the likes of Dhruv Jurel and Sanju Samson who are patiently awaiting their chances. And now Rishabh Pant has put his name in the mixes.
