Watch Babar Azam’s brain fade moment
The hilarious brain fade moment occurred as the ex-Pakistan skipper was at the non-strikers end. A front-foot punch played by current skipper Shan Masood off the bowler’s delivery was attempted to be stopped by Babar, who almost got his glove to the ball. What remains a surprise is why Azam did so, and as to whether he forgot if he was batting or fielding.
The ex-skipper managed to score 40 runs off 88 deliveries before he was dismissed by Jordan Buckingham. Azam shared a steady partnership with Masood before he tickled the ball down the leg side leading to his dismissal. Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first in the warm-up game against the Prime Minister’s XI.
At the time of publishing this story, Pakistan had amassed over 200 runs as play continued on Day 1. It will be interesting to see Pakistan’s approach in PAK vs AUS series, with new board members, selectors, consultants and captains as a part of the PCB’s overhaul after a disastrous World cup 2023 campaign.
