91/4—the score read when India C came out to bat. Trailing by just 73 runs, they could have taken the lead after the end of the first session. However, Harshit Rana had other ideas. He started the second day by sending Abishek Porel and Manav Suthar back to the hut. Arshdeep Singh and Aditya Thakare pilled on the pain, and India C were reduced to 108/8, losing 4 wickets in just 17 runs.
If not for Baba Indrajith, they could have ended with a 40-run trail despite wrapping up India D for just 164 the previous day. The Tamil Nadu batter top scored with an imperious 79, which helped India C gain a 4-run lead. It changed the momentum in the game, and when India C took the field, they had a spring in their step.
Vijaykumar Vyshak, the best bowler in the first innings, gave the best possible start—in his first three overs, he sent openers Atharva Taide and Yash Dubey back into the hut. But Shreyas Iyer and Devdutt Padikkal didn’t bog down under the pressure. They hit quick-fire fifties, and by the time they departed, the lead was 166.
However, Manav Suthar claimed a five-wicket haul in the last session and put the game in balance. He got Padikkal, Ricky Bhui, Srikar Bharat, Saransh Jain, and Arshdeep Singh in a spell, and India D ended the day from 166/3 to 203/8.
