Axar Patel survives injury scare in India vs Australia Champions Trophy semifinal

Axar Patel suffered a neck injury scare while fielding against Australia but resumed bowling after receiving medical attention from the physio.

India’s star all-rounder Axar Patel had an injury scare during the Champions Trophy semifinal match between India and Australia in Dubai. When fielding, he felt discomfort around his neck, which required medical attention from the camp. Axar is playing an important role for India in the Champions Trophy, and he is efficient with both bat and ball.

Injury scare for Axar

The incident happened in the 16th over when Axar Ptel was bowling. During the fourth ball of the 16th over, Axar Patel bowled a delivery to Marnus Labuchagne. The Aussie plays a shot, and when Axar went on to get the ball, he landed heavily on his neck/head when he threw the ball back. After this he felt some discomfort and then the physio came out to check him. To save the time, umpires called for a drinks break. Right after the injury scare, Axar Patel started bowling again.

Axar Patel has played amazingly well for India in the Champions Trophy so far. In the three innings, he has scored 53 runs, and has taken four innings for India in the tournament so far. The all-rounder is playing his first ever ICC ODI torument, making the most out of the opportunity.
