Avesh Khan picks two-in-two after Arshdeep Singh as SA collapse in 1st ODI vs IND

Avesh Khan struck in two consecutive deliveries, similar to Arshdeep Singh, as the Proteas faltered in the 1st IND vs SA ODI

It is turning out to be a field for India’s pacers as Avesh Khan struck after Arshdeep Singh’s early onslaught. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, South Africa’s top order collapsed like a pack of cards, with Avesh adding fuel to the fire. At the time of publishing this story, South Africa were 60/7, with the duo of Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh sharing the spoils so far.

Avesh’s first victim was Aiden Markram 12(21) as he attempted to chop the ball on but was bowled. In the next delivery, Wian Mulder was trapped for an LBW, walking back to the pavilion for a golden duck. A couple of overs later, Khan got rid of David Miller, adding another wicket to his name.

Arshdeep Singh provided the perfect start for India with two consecutive strikes in his first over. Reeza Hendricks was Arshdeep’s first victim as he was bowled after he attempted to drag the delivery. He was dismissed for 0(8). Rassie van der Dussen was the next to follow, as we was trapped for an LBW in the very next delivery. The Proteas batsman reviewed the decision but it stayed the same (umpire’s call) and he had to continue walking.
